Val Shakespear founded this commercial refrigeration business in the 1980s, laying the groundwork for a family-run legacy spanning over 40 years. Raised in the small town of Tropic, Utah, Val brought genuine rural values to his work—treating every customer like family and taking immense pride in delivering top-quality, dependable service. Over the decades, his dedication built lasting, trusted relationships across local businesses throughout Southern Utah.
Wade Forsyth’s journey in the trade began long before he joined Shakespear Sales & Service in 2015. Growing up working alongside his dad, Wade learned the ins and outs of heating and air conditioning from a young age. Driven by a natural mechanical mind and a passion for hands-on work, he earned his college degree—only to realize his true calling wasn’t behind a desk.
Returning to his roots, Wade mastered custom ductwork fabrication, earned his contractor’s license, and achieved NATE certification. Eager to expand his expertise into commercial refrigeration, he partnered with Val Shakespear to master the field. Wade quickly gained the trust of both Val and their client base, leading him to purchase the business in 2019.
Today, Wade runs the business alongside his wife, Julianne, who manages the office and bookkeeping. This line of work demands high-level technical skills and the agility to handle unpredictable, daily emergency service calls. While the job is fast-paced and challenging, the reward is simple: keeping local businesses running and our community comfortable.
